E111 vs EHIC

We thought this would be useful, especially for parents of students who are preparing for our German Immersion visit in December. The Department of Health website provides full details about the E111 form and the new EHIC card.

Put yourself (and PiE!) on the map

Just discovered this via Adam Christianson's MacCast podcast. Basically it allows you to add your name and your location to a map, thereby allowing everyone to see where everyone is from. No security issues, assuming you don't provide your email address and I'd suggest everyone sticks to first names. Hopefully all our PiECast and VerbCast listeners will add their entry and we'll quickly see how far afield the word about PiE is spreading. Click the button below.

Strasbourg visit dates announced

We've finally been able to confirm our dates for the visit to Strasbourg in February 2006. We'll be travelling to Strasbourg on Tuesday 21st February in the evening from Prestwick to Frankfurt Hahn, and returning on Tuesday 28th February, again in the evening. Sunday Express: nothing this week

I've had a good look through the Sunday Express today and there doesn't seem to be any mention of the VerbCast. Shame - hopefully there'll be something next week. I'll update here once I've spoken to the reporter tomorrow.

PiE Website updates

I've updated the PiE website tonight. The site finally has contact details and a section on "What is PiE?" There's also a link to the blog from the front page of the site too. The main reason I've done all of this and indeed launched the blog is because of the article due in tomorrow's Sunday Express about our VerbCast project, more information on which can be found here. Here's hoping the article is positive!

Jumping on the bandwagon

We've decided to launch a new part to the PiE site - our blog. This is basically where we'll post information on any updates to the site, any thoughts or ideas which don't quite merit a full-blown article on the site, and other information for staff and students involved in the project.

I'm definitely something of a beginner to blogging - and indeed perhaps something of a non-believer! This blog isn't likely to contain lots of deep and meaningful thoughts, but it will hopefully provide an easy way to keep up with the latest from PiE.
