BETT Moblog

An inspiring day!

I've now left BETT - didn't quite get the chance to moblog any more this afternoon because things got very busy. I was able to interview someone from the BBC about the new BBC Jam website, the contents of which look excellent. I also got to interview the Education Director of Apple Europe - in French - for the podcast!

Heading to the airport now...

It's been quite an interesting experience moblogging - a first for me. Not quite sure how useful it all is because with my phone the pictures are of such poor quality. But hopefully you've enjoyed it and found it useful and interesting! The full report will be posted on the PiE website very soon, along with the podcast I've been working on throughout the day.

It's not all tech stuff!

No, this isn't what i ended up having for lunch! They're prizes in a competition. And yes i have entered!I've just also interviewed Stephen Heppell who is very enthusiastic about podcasting. Off now to speak to the Apple Education European Manager.

Create at BETT

One of the most inspirational parts of BETT is the Create at BETT stand where young people actually create things live at the show. This year i saw animation, podcasts and films being created. I also got the chance to speak to some of the kids for our own podcast. Going to seminar now.

Update

It's lunchtime and just to prove that I'm not taking it too easy Ewan, I've not actually had any lunch at all! I've just been sitting talking to David Baugh of iPod in Education and DV in Education. I'll be interviewing him later on for the podcast. He was very interested to hear about the VerbCast and will include it in tomorrow's presentation on podcasting. It appears that he's been asked to completely rewrite his presentation overnight to include all the latest details on Apple's podcasting features in Garageband.

I also appear to have secured an interview with Hervé Marchet, European Education Director of Apple, so hopefully we'll have some information about "La Pomme" on the podcast.

There's loads more to see - can't really do it all in a day, but I'll keep posting via my mobile. In the meantime, I'm off to hear what Stephen Heppell has to say in his seminar "Global Innovation in Learning"!

New title from Eurotalk

Just been speaking to Steve Eatock from Eurotalk who was telling of about their latest offering, Talk More. It seems to fall in between Talk Now and World Talk and the interface is very nice. Just planning my afternoon around stephen heppell's presentation.

Favourite thing so far is the primary resource Petit Pont. I'll post links later. This is fabulous stuff for primaries and also secondary SEN. Very interested!

Arrived at the show

Looking forward to an interesting day here at BETT. First person i bumped into was Gerry Toner of the Scholar programme. Off to learn lots and will blog more later.
