Bon courage pour les examens!

You've completed the VERBcast and hopefully you've found it a good way to prepare for your French exam. If you're doing the Scottish Standard Grade then that means you'll be sitting your exam tomorrow, Tuesday 9th May. If you're doing Higher you've got another week. You may well just be listening in from elsewhere or doing GCSE or A-Level French. Regardless, we hope you've found it useful. Please do give us some feedback on the site - your thoughts are very much appreciated.

If you're doing Higher French then you may be interested to know that we're running another series of podcasts at the moment which covers everything you need to know about the Higher exam, using the 2005 SQA papers as examples. You can find out more about this on the PiE website, and you'll need to contact us for a username and password in order to access these shows.

Very best of luck with the rest of your exams, well done for sticking with the VERBcast, and we look forward to working with you in the future on other projects!

VERBcast: episode 20

You've made it! Today is the final episode and you should be very proud of yourself if you've stuck with the VERBcast throughout the past 20 programmes. It's really useful to us if you can give your feedback in the comments section on the blog. Also, if you're one of our listeners tuning in from further afield then we'd be keen to have your feedback too.

On today's show
Today's show is a revision show, looking at everything we've covered in the past 20 episodes. You'll be tested interactively on regular and irregular verbs in the present, perfect, imperfect and future tenses. Good luck!

On today's show
Today we'll continue to look at the future tense, concentrating on some of our list of irregular verbs which are in fact completely regular in the future. We'll also look at ĂȘtre, avoir and aller which have irregular future stems.

VERBcast: episode 16

We're into the last five programmes of the VERBcast. Today is another revision day and tomorrow we'll be getting on to something a bit different.

On today's show
This is the second part of the revision session, covering everything that you've learned so far. Today and yesterday's shows are really important because they'll help to consolidate what you've covered and check that you've not been getting mixed up as we do different tenses.

VERBcast: episode 14

It's the second of May and for many of you this day will have been significant for a long time: your exams begin today with S-Grade English. On behalf of everyone involved in the VERBcast I'd like to wish you the very best of luck for this exam, and for the other exams you'll be doing over the next few weeks.

The VERBcast will continue, even if you've not got a huge amount of time to work through things at the moment because of the exams. And it's something a bit different today: an interactive quiz to test your knowledge of the imperfects you've done so far.

On today's show
Test your knowledge of the imperfect tense with this interactive audio quiz. You'll have to give the imperfect tense for a number of verbs, and we'll talk you through how to form each verb you're tested on.

VERBcast: episode 13

Happy May everyone: an important month, of course - may it bring you success and achievement! It's edition 13 of the VERBcast which may be unlucky for some, but there's good news today: with the imperfect tense there only is one irregular verb!

On today's show
Today's VERBcast looks at our list of irregular verbs, all but one of which conjugate regularly in the imperfect! The one irregular verb is ĂȘtre and you'll be conjugating this in no time!

VERBcast: episode 12

We introduced the Imperfect tense yesterday - and I'm sure for most of you this constitutes revision. Today we'll talk a bit more about this tense, introducing more verb conjugations.

On today's show
In episode 12 we'll get into the Imperfect Tense a bit more, discussing further uses of this tense, and going over the -ir and -re verbs in the imperfect.
